What we do

We build autonomous orbital foundries that manufacture what gravity won't allow.

At Crucible, we see microgravity not as an obstacle of spaceflight, but as an instrument. Remove gravity and materials stop settling, stop sagging, stop separating. Crystals grow without defects. Molten metal floats free of any container that could contaminate it.

Our platforms fly unmanned, run their furnaces for months at a time, and return their payloads to Earth in precision reentry capsules. The products they carry home, optical fiber, protein crystals, and alloys that cannot form under gravity, are made to a standard no terrestrial factory can reach.

Athanor

Autonomous, restockable, and relentless, Athanor is a free-flying foundry that runs levitation furnaces and crystal growth lines in orbit, unattended, around the clock.

Amber

Every product Athanor makes is worthless until it lands. Amber is the second half of the factory: a reusable reentry capsule that carries the finished material home, intact, on schedule.

Amber survives 1,900 degrees of reentry so a kilogram of perfect crystal doesn't have to feel a single g over its rated load. Guided descent puts it inside a two-kilometer ellipse on the Mojave range.

Recovery to loading dock in under six hours. The payload rack ships to the customer the same day, cold chain intact, with full telemetry from furnace to touchdown.

We are looking for the engineers and scientists who want their work to leave the planet.
